In years past, we have spent the night at my parents place and had an evening of fun and games and general silliness. Because of the loads of snow we've gotten and the numerous times we've gotten stuck on my parents driveway since Christmas, we are opting to stay home.
We will still probably play games with the kids, maybe watch a movie, and we will most definitely be eating tons. I'm fixing a bunch of finger foods (meat, cheese and crackers, little smokies, crab dip, shrimp coctail, and chips and dip). It won't be as loud or crazy as it can get at my parents place, but it will be nice to be at home this year.
The kids have silly hats and noise makers to play with when the clock strikes 12. I may try to find a few moments to myself before heading to bed to get a glimpse of the moon. Hopefully it will stay clear enough for me to do that. This is the first day in a long time that we've seen the sun.

My teacher is dancing at a local restaurant this evening - Dann and I have reservations, but it will depend on how Dann is feeling. He's been under the weather the past few days. He said I should plan on going, even if he doesn't feel up to it, but I won't. There are a lot of things I'm happy to do on my own, but "going to a restaurant on New Year's Eve" isn't one of them.

Just staying home reading a new book. Then I know I will fall asleep and wake up later. If I do wake up, I will look outside for the full moon (Blue Moon).
Put some change on the window ledge for me and my son and daughter.....then we will have money all year long.
Real exciteing plans I have... :rotflmao:

I'm going to stay in, watch Angels & Demons, poke about on the computer and go to bed.

We're staying home, but tomorrow night my kids might go to my folks so hubby and I can go see Avatar. I don't think we've been out just the two of us in about a year. edited to add that I'll probably do a ritual tonight.

Heading off in a few for our annual New Year's celebration on the train here in the Shasta area. I only hope that the full moon doesn't aggravate what is usually "a little crazy" and bound to be worse this year to begin with as it may be the last New Year's trip for the railroad. :rolleye:

I had some minor plans for the day, but they were derailed by my beloved treating me like a sex object. I think that's supposed to be demeaning or something, but I had trouble summoning any moral outrage over it- guess I'm not any good at social justice issues.

This is belated, but I threw a party at my place. I have a large roof terrace and fireworks are legal here for NYE so we watched them go off through the city up there.
It also involved far too much wine and champagne.
