Solitary Lughnasadh Ritual
« on: July 30, 2010, 11:33:04 PM »

I'm planning on doing this tomorrow on my hike.

“Hail to you Spirits of the North and the power of Air, you who are the cool breeze on my face and in the trees, I do summon, stir and call you up to witness these rites and to guard this sacred space.”
At this time, I will draw the invoking pentagram while visualizing a hawk and feeling a cool breeze rushing through the trees and all around me.

“Hail to you Spirits of the East and the power of Earth, you who are the solid ground around and under me,  I do summon, stir and call you up to witness these rites and to guard this sacred space.”
At this time, I will draw the invoking pentagram while visualizing a deer and feeling the vibrations of the ancient rocks that form the mountain range.

“Hail to you Spirits of the South and the power of Fire, you who are warmth and light,
I do summon, stir and call you up to witness these rites and to guard this sacred space.”
At this time, I will draw the invoking pentagram while visualizing a fox and feeling the warmth and light  of the Sun.

“Hail to you Spirits of the West and the power of Water, you who are the babbling brook and spring,  I do summon, stir and call you up to witness these rites and to guard this sacred space.”
At this time, I will draw the invoking pentagram while visualizing a beaver and feeling the vibrations of the surrounding streams and springs.

“This sacred circle is cast
between future and past.

As above, so below,
The circle is made whole.

So mote it be!”

At this point I will invite my personal guides.

“Blessed Be!”

“They who are called by many names, I honor you!

Lugh, Lord of the First Fruits, God of the Grain, come join with me!
As you pour your life out for the new harvest, I honor you”
On the right, I will place a small pottery sun to represent the Lord.

“Cerridwen, Lady of the Harvest, Goddess of the Grain, come join with me!
As you nurture the living God in your womb, I honor you.”
On the left, I will place a small pottery moon to represent the Lady.

“Blessed be the Two Who Are One, for from Them I am nourished both body and soul!”

At this time I will meditate on what I wish to harvest in my life and what needs to be sacrificed in order to make that harvest.  As the Lord sacrifices himself for the harvest, so must I rid myself of excess emotional baggage and bad habits to attain my goals.

After the meditation, I will raise power and release it for reaping the harvest I wish and for prosperity in health and circumstance to those who have requested it and for those I love who would wish to accept it.

“I stand now in the time of waiting.
As I have labored, now shall I reap.

So mote it be.”

At this time, I will earth any excess energies

“Mother of the Dark Moon,
Father of Shining Light,
May your strength rest upon me,
May your beauty surround me,
May your wisdom live in me.
I thank you for your presence here today
and for the blessings you have bestowed on me.

Blessed Be!”

At this time, I will thank my guides.

“Spirits of Air, Earth, Fire and Water,
Go if you must or stay if you will.
I humbly thank you for your presence!
Though the circle is open, it remains unbroken.
As Above, So Below.
So I have said.
So mote it be.”

Wonderful- I'm just in from mine. Barefoot- but not quite skyclad as its cool and raining here in Ireland- at dusk in my outdoor circle- giving thanks for the first harvest. The bats were flying over head and the spirits left me a beautiful double head buttercup and a feather.

Sounds lovely LadyOrchid!  Unfortunately, I ran into a small snag having my ritual in the mountains today.  It was a monsoon!  We hiked anyway but I think I'll have ritual in the morning.
