Title: Witch, Please
Post by: Fox on April 29, 2010, 05:37:49 PM
I fond this posted on a blog today, but it wasn't credited to anyone.  I did manage to find it posted on the original author's site, so I'll just post the link.  It is WELL worth the read!

That is wonderful!  Thanks for the link Foxy. :D

And in reading this, one thing that struck me is the "I care that you’re making a difference." statement.  One thing I frequently have trouble with is knowing that what I do makes a difference to anyone but me.  It's really easy to doubt ourselves and forget that what we take for granted, as part of who we are, is likely valuable to others ... either short or long term.  I just felt like pointing that out ... and thought I'd mention that we each should make a point of telling at least one person each day that what they do matters to us. :)

Well, you constantly knock me on my head when I'm being a dork and remind me that I'm not always a dork.  :D  :warmfuzz:

I love Dianne Sylvan.  That post is absolutely perfect.

Dianne Sylvan is one of the few writers out there who ring true for me.  I find her delightfully refreshing.  She says many of the things I cannot find words for and she does it so simply.  She acknowledges that, in the end, after all the books and traditions and rituals and posturing, what matters is being a person who enjoys life and helps others to enjoy life.  If any of the women here have not yet read "The Body Sacred", I highly recommend it.  She wrote it during her more Wiccan phase, but it is a wonderful book.
