Just when you think the followers may have gotten a wake up slap in the face, out comes this.
The world will now end October 21st 2011
"I don't think I am going to stop listening to him," one acolyte told the Chronicle, before sighing and adding, "I don't know, I gotta listen to him on Monday, see what he says on the radio." Yes, let us withhold judgment until we listen to his broadcast, shall we?
Certainly there's a perfectly rational explanation for all of this.

Um, 2012 is the year after 2011 so we will have a whole year to see it on everything we put a date on. What's not to believe? 2012 will exist and will be here in about 7 months.

I take it you mean the prophocies claimining the end of the world as some claim the Aztecs said. They never actually said it. Their calander ends then, that is all. Considering how long their calander covered, I am not surprised they didn't go further. Boring work, IMO!

Concerning that Aztec calendar- I saw an interview with an anthropologist, himself of Aztec descent, and he was asked about the calendar running out in 2012. He said, "The calendar ends in 2012 because that's how big the stone was- don't you white men have to print new calendars when you get to the bottom of the page?"
