Title: Summer Solstice
Post by: Tirya on June 21, 2011, 07:49:09 PM
Hope everyone's having a good Solstice! As the days grow shorter but hotter, I'm reminded not only of the strength of the sun, but also why I tend to like the equinoxes... ;)

A Blessed Litha to all here!

From my BOS : "The Sun is within me.  See how I shine.  See how I shine"

Looking forward to Litha gathering with Serpentstone and my sweetie this weekend.  Cant wait to dance around the fire and celebrate the fruits of love.

We had plenty of sun here today with temps in the 100s. Hope everyone had a wonderful Litha.

It felt more like the first day of spring rather than summer.  It was only in the 70's all day.  I ended up sitting at the ball park tonight with a jacket and a blanket.   I did have a wonderful day, despite the cold.

Hope everyone else had a wonderful day as well.

Strangely, I always celebrate Yule solstice, but never have done it with Litha.
I decided to get up early on my day off of work, and watch the sunrise, as mentioned above.

I had my work schedule changed on me at the last moment (Litha eve), so I didnt get a chance to watch the sunrise.
Apparently, I would not have seen it anyhow due to "June gloom" (overcast).
Maybe a message in here?

I did manage to catch some solstice sunlight during the day, so it wasn't all bad.

I'm in between Litha rituals- I assisted a ritual at the women's prison last week (Indianapolis Pagan Prison Ministries), and my CUUPs group has theirs Saturday.

peace,
ES

The weather here hasn't turned yet, so I keep forgetting what time of year it is.  :gaah:

Blessed Yule, Tahlea!
