Title: Local New Age Store
Post by: Tirya on May 18, 2010, 02:07:08 PM
Okay, this could either be really good, or really dangerous. I learned today that our local new age store (which has classes and workshops in addition to some cool stuff and stones) is moving. Its new location is about a mile from my house. Easy walking distance...

Well, what you save on gas, you can spend in the shop....

And don't forget the savings on vehicle maintenance! :D

I wish I had a place closer.  I either have to go downtown or to the other side of town about 45 minutes away.

Crescent Springs in Overland Park.  It is really small, but they do have a few nice things.

Ahhh!  Ok I gotcha now.  I have heard about that one but I've never been there.  Arn't they off of Metcalf and 80th or something like that?

That is the general location, though I'm not certain of the side street it is on.

Ugh.  I try to avoid that drive.  I'm lucky enough that the 2 shops I frequent are relatively close.  I can hit one from home or the other on the way home from work.

I used to have one within a short walk from my home. It was great because it gave me some motivation to walk and my son was little and he could ride his trike down the sidewalk to it with me. It is long gone now, the lady who ran it has reopened it several times in other parts of town but I seldom can make it out there. It was really sweet having one close like that.

Hi,
I am in town visiting my mom and looking for a new age store to visit while here. I saw your post and wanted to know if you can give me any leads? Thanks for your help!

Welcome cammycat!  It would help to know which town you are referring to as our members are all over the globe.  ;)

She's in Knoxville.  I responded to her request via email.

Absolutely NO new age stores near me - the nearest one would be a half-hour away.  Makes me upset because there used to be one right here in town, then it moved to 20 minutes away, now it's shut down :(

You'd think there'd be plenty here, but none that are close, and all are at least a half-hour away either due to distance, or traffic.  I don't see it as too big a deal though ... one gets used to the traffic after a while.  :rolleye:

If it is in the 45 minute range or less, then it isn't a big deal to drive for me as we do that all the time just to get to Hubby's dad.  I guess you just kind of get used to it when you live in an area where everything is spread all over the place.
