Saratoga Springs is not a large town, as such go. Right now, they are faced, as are so many places, with buget problems. They were talking about cutting 7 firefighters and 7 poilce officers. Neither of those departments are large.

Earlier this week, the Chief of Police and the Fire Chief announced they are retiring...because what the city will save by NOT paying their senority paychecks will save the jobs of at least a few of the younger men and women with five years or less on the job.

I salute these two men. They really care about their community. Neither one of them SOULD be looking at retirement for another 5 to 10 years.

Yep, pretty cool when people look out for others.
