When you don't have the right things to offer
« on: August 30, 2011, 05:29:00 AM »

What do you offer?

I can't stop listening to Omnia's Morrigan, and I feel like I owe her something today. But I don't have anything on site that you would typically give her. What do you turn to during times like this? Or specifically, what would you offer Morrigan if you had nothing on hand that she liked (except well the obvious that I have at all times, else I'd be dead.)?

Your service?  I believe that the Gods like for us to care for one another in Their honor.  I serve the Morrigan by helping abused women whenever I can  Community service is an investment of your time which is precious.

I agree with DS.  Yourself and time are some of the absolute best gifts we have to offer and require a level of personal attachment that most anything else just doesn't have.

I am a member of the Indianapolis Pagan Prison Ministry, and I can tell you that a) Prisons always need community volunteer help, and b) the women's prisons have a lot of abused women inside. In addition to my regular duties leading Pagan classes at the men's facilities, I have also attended Sabbat rituals at the women's prison, so that they would have a male presence to represent the God. I'm sure The Morrigan would look with favor on any assistance you could provide for those victims inside.

peace,

agree with all the above. The gift of your time and your service is one of the most precious of gifts you can give to Deity.

There is a passage from the Bhagavad Gita which always stuck with me,

"Whatever I am offered in devotion with a pure heart, a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I accept with joy."

 :yeahthat:

Everyone has hit the nail on the head. Offer what you have. If you mean it with a pure and honest heart it will be accepted. Even if you have nothing but yourself and your services to offer.

Never heard that before...but it's beautiful.
