You know the really messed up part of this all? When I first started playing Dungeons and Dragons, I tried playing a mage character. The DM quickly told me to toss the character and create something else since I just didn't have the grasp of being a spell caster.

Boy was he wrong eh?

Meh.  The problem with D&D is that there's no connection to the reality of spellcasting.  Kind of like Hollyweird ... they all think it's all dark clouds and lots of flowery speech. :rolleye:
