With Ancestor's Eve rapidly approaching Are you looking forward to communing with those passed or do you instead view this day/night one of grieving?

earthmuffin:
I don't view it is a day of grieving, more like a day of remembrance and sometimes there can be sadness associated. I don't really commune with the ancestors at this time.

DragonsFriend:
I love inviting those passed into circle. It is a happy time for me because I see those family members and friends as they truly are. My niece who was a fragile little girl of 8 when her second bout of Leukemia ended her life on earth still retains her childish appearance but she also reveals her very strong spirit that is amazingly beautiful. My dad actually has a great sense of humor, a side I never got to see while he was human. I have an Uncle that spent most of his life with Muscular Dystrophy and he too is an amazingly strong spirit. The wisdom I gain from these encounters is overwhelming and the love is simply fantastic.

 I look forward to communicating with those who have passed.  I honor my ancestors and feel very connected to them.  Samhain for me, is a time not to grieve but to celebrate.

I am pleasantly surprised to find others who view the sabbat as a joyful time!
